Artist Statement:
"The Art of Being" spotlights a well-seasoned Asian woman who possesses inner contentment and peace. Daily she sits on the same red metal mesh bench with legs dangling, resting on her cane, loving life. One day, the bench posted a "Wet Paint" sign. That made for a colorful sitting day! Joyful nonetheless as she had discovered The Art of Being. The essence of my artwork is to portray joy, using metaphor, movement, texture and color. Although an award-winning watercolor painter for over 30 years and a graduate of business and art, I am a lifelong student. Painting is a challenging, yet joyful journey to uncover, discover and recover inner contentment and the "art of being". My expressive watermedia paintings radiate joy and peace.
