Artist Statement:
Train Station was inspired by a photograph that I took while in Paris. I am not a sketchbook traveler; I am a camera traveler. I find a click of the camera very satisfying! I can take many photos in passing and usually have enough images of a subject to create a painting when I return home. Working from photos allows me to edit at my leisure. I look for the center of interest and then create a composition using color and value. In an effort to paint in a less realistic way I try to focus on the subject's shapes and less on the detail.
