Bill finds inspiration in the sculptural and complex character found in industrial structures that are no longer in use and are only remnants that hint at their previous lives. With his Gasworks Series, he investigates ways to capture a feeling of the presence and awesome power of these ruins. He uses a combination of watercolor and gouache applied with brushes and scrapers to capture the gritty quality of these rusting monuments.
