Artist Statement: I love to paint the figure in strong sunlight. In this case, the model wore a vintage skirt and I was captivated by the glow on the pleats. She had modeled me for many times at this historic house, and she returned after a
year's absence. We knew the sun streaming into the house would mark an intersection of interior space with the natural world.
