Gary Johnson - Eternal Spirit
Watercolor painting by Gary Johnson from Fayetteville, AR.
Artist Statement: As I develop an abstract painting, I try to remove thinking about the process too much and let the painting dictate where I go with the development. Usually I aim for color harmony as well as ensuring I have a balance of lights and darks that work together to create a finished piece. In this particular piece, I noticed what I imagined was a spiritual being floating around looking at the earth below to determine where it was needed. I further imagined the spirit would find a being in need and would proceed to assist that being with divine guidance, hence the title.
