(1917-2007) Mary Jane Kieffer attended the American Academy of Art, The Chicago Art Institute and the Maholy Nagi School of Design. At the age of 19 she drove herself and her mother to California where she began her career as a Fashion Illustrator working for J. W. Robinsons in downtown L.A. She received the Francis Holmes trophy for excellence from the Los Angeles Advertising Women, Inc. Over the years she received numerous awards for her watercolors and exhibited widely from The National Academy of Art in New York to The Laguna Museum of Art, Ca.
