Artist Statement: My watercolors are from my own photography. I simplify the images, emphasizing value range, saturated color, and contrast using a modified "mask & pour" technique. I captured this scene of commercial fisherman harvesting salmon during the intense season for red salmon at âsetnetâ sites on the beach near Naknek, Alaska.
