Michael Holter - Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
Watercolor painting by Michael Holter from the Southwestern Watercolor Society (Texas).
Artist Statement: I find capturing personality when painting watercolor portraits particularly challenging. In “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” I chose to provide an airy, atmospheric feel caused by this cowboy’s smoke which tells the viewer a lot about who this guy is and what he might be about. Smoke created by lifting wet passages of watercolor with tissue or paper towel.
