Artist Statement: This beach view of the Mokulua Islands on windward Oahu became a favorite location to paint watercolor studies en plein air, then later develop those into larger studio versions. Here, I was excited by an approaching storm, where wind rustled palm fronds and pushed clouds and squalls landward.
